Three types of XX Inter-sexism (Hemaphroditism according to Weinberg (1988))
1. XX (female) is induced with Androgens and has genitals that appear male if raised as male and given androgens at puberty is expected to develop a male identity.
2. XX (female) induced with progestin (Steroids) in mother has genitals that appear male at puberty will grow breasts, however if given androgens at puberty may get male identity. Some have been surgically altered to appear female can potentially bear offspring and develop female identity.
3. XX (female) Androgential induced (cortisol lacking) may lead to brain dimorphism as well as genitally (structured bi-sexual). May be surgically changed to female genitals where 40% consider self to be bi-sexual and 5% as lesbian.
Various forms of XY intersexism also occur,
including androgen insensitive XY who appear female at birth and may be raised as female, but do not menstruate or develop breasts at puberty.
