This week you are being asked to review the research of James Marcia on Erikson’s adolescent identity formation. Be sure to review the lecture notes and then either find someone who is in the adolescence / young adulthood stage or think about you yourself would answer questions of identity formation. Examine the Identity Status Interview in this link(Interview) for search and commitment to career and possibly other domains of identity formation. As you look at the interview you will see that it is somewhat in conversational style as a semi-structured interview. The main points are to examine whether your participant has explored and / or made a commitment to career or any other domain that you examine.

For your activity write up a brief case history of where you or your participant (use only false names) is in identity formation according to  Marcia’s four-fold categories (diffusion, foreclosure, moratorium or achievement) and upload that to the assignment drop box for activity 7. 

Also be sure to post some thoughts on the identity interview process and classification framework in the discussion board for Activity 7 and reply to at least on other person’s post.
