Oh Hai. When I picked up the AMH mix I was confused. Linkin Park and puff the magic dragon side by side? Weird dude... Johnny cash is always good on any playlist though. The song sober up by AJR with rivers Cuomo I had not heard and it is interesting. The Daughtry of it all was very gross. During the second song I was having strong memories if the first. But gross....I'm surprised it wasn't followed by Creed it was so gross. Im always happy to hear female vocalists, but the additions of lights and digital daggers wasn't too fantastic although worth the listen. Amanda Palmer is way better.
Although I thought it sounded unique on paper, as I listened to it I felt alot more that it sounded like a mix of mediocre mainstream pop with two old songs thrown in to be cool. Which made me wonder if this mix was made by a student with a specific taste in music or if it was by committee as a group. You want to hear a good album? Jack White's "Boarding House Reach" just came out and it's beautiful. It doesn't all have to sound the same, there's a duo called the uncluded made of rapper Aesop rock and folk singer kimya Dawson. Their music is weird dude. Like really weird not faux weird like your mix. When ten out of twelve songs on your "mix" sound like they came out of the same machine it might be a beautiful time to branch out!
